My name is Marianne and I reside in sunny Southern California, where getting plastic surgery is as common as getting a half-caff, non-fat Venti caramel Macchiato in the drive-thru. Fortunately my interests are widespread so I often have the opportunity to escape L.A. and obtain many views–as well as change my own. I always remain open-minded as life and technology continually evolve. I believe that adaptation is the secret of success and happiness.
I have been researching and writing medical articles for web publications, magazines, books and televised media since 1998. I believe that patients should have open access to quality information that include both the benefits and the risks of a procedure. I feel that we should be able to know exactly what we are getting into and be able to research the background of the surgeon who will be holding the scalpel. For this reason I pride myself on staying ahead of the curve when it comes to aesthetic medical technology while still maintaining genuine empathy and conveying a personable approach in supporting patients.

Hi,
I’m in Los Angeles. Through my dermatologist, Dr. Lin, and his wonderful PA, Melissa Brown, they have been my “team” for my son who had horrible acne in high school, and me, for adult acne. I’ve talked for several years about different surgeries for my face too….
A month ago, Melissa did deep laser around my eyes, my lips, and an old staph infection scar right between my eyes (lovely placing, third eye….it went through 3 surgeries). Before doing this I had the great privilege of having a consultation with Dr. Hoenig as they share the same office building and working relationship.
I’m 57 and feel like I’ve been going on 2000. (Finally left a bad, abusive 10 year marriage a year ago.) Before that I generally was told I looked ten, sometimes, 15 years younger! Those were the days.
I came to Dr. Hoenig to ask about a face and neck lift. He said “No Way….You’re not ready yet!” I just about fell out of the chair. He kept asking me my real age….he said Sculptra in different parts of my face was the answer! Would you trust Dr. Hoening
implicitly? I really really liked him and get honest vibes and energy from him.
He said, “Sure there’s lots of surgeon’s in this city who will happily take your money, but that would be a waste at this time.” (I had gotten several quotes for upper eye area and lower “jowls” and neck….! $14,000 and up with anesthesia thrown in.
Maybe my face isn’t as far gone as I feel and he and Melissa are giving me good objective advice!? If I had endless amounts of money, I’d redo my whole body….I’m at that point.
I’d be much obliged if anyone had any feedback. I’ve read YTF off and on for years and it’s been a saving grace and wonderful place to speak openly about cosmetic procedures. Thank you for paving the way, Marianne!
Best wishes,
Nita
